Back on Track Coffee is an independent, railway-themed coffee shop occupying the ground floor of a listed building at 3a Wimpole Street in Marylebone, London. The owners wanted to refresh the shopfront with new branded signage, including an illuminated circular projecting sign and replacement fascia lettering, together with tables and chairs on the pavement outside. An earlier application had been returned as invalid, so we were appointed to prepare a complete and accurate submission for Advertisement Consent and Listed Building Consent, where every dimension of the proposed signs had to be exactly right.
Working from the building's historic planning drawings, we produced a full set of existing and proposed drawings, including a detailed 3D model of the ground floor elevation, plans, sections and close-up details of each sign at 1:10 and 1:20 showing its size, position and height above the pavement. We also prepared a dedicated drawing package to support the café's Pavement Licence application, setting out outdoor seating on the footway and in the adjacent parking bay. The new signage is now in place, and the bright railway-track logo has become a familiar landmark on the street.
